The Jockey Club has elected eight new members, including Chris McCarron, the Hall of Fame jockey, and Craig Fravel, the president of Del Mar Thoroughbred Club in Southern California, the organization announced on Friday.
In addition to McCarron and Fravel, the other newly elected members are: Antony Beck, the president of Gainesway Farm; Adele Dilschneider, an owner and breeder; John Ferguson, the bloodstock advisor for Darley Stud of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum; Joe Ford, the owner of Westrock Stables; William Lear, a Lexington, Ky., lawyer who is a trustee of the Keeneland Association; and Arnold Zetcher, the chairman of the Thoroughbred Owners of California.
With the eight additions, the Jockey Club now has 106 members, who are invited to join the organization based on their contributions to the sport. Members of the Jockey Club are eligible to serve as officers of the organization.
