Santa Anita: Hess claims first race runner-up

Pride of Wilshire, second in Sunday's first race for maiden claimers, was claimed for $32,000 by trainer Bob Hess, Jr., in a two-way shake.

Pride of Wilshire finished a neck behind Eze Does It ($) after leading for much of the race over 5 1-2 furlongs.  Pride of Wilshire, a gelding by Cherokee Run, has been second in his first two starts.
