The main track may or may not have favored runners on the outside yesterday, so it was interesting to see Untopable win today's opener on the front end. He was well off the fence in the lane but he was in the two path, at most, for much of the early going. The key to the race was the fact that A Bit of Madness, another expected speed, took back in the opening stages, allowing Untopable to set his own pace. Flirting For Love, another horse who could have possibly pressured the pace, lost his best chance when he stumbled at the break, and that also changed the complexion of the race.
