Partyallnightlong disappointed as the odds-on favorite in his debut in the fall but a race-long duel cost him in that race, and he weakened late. No such problems in today's 4th, as he rated effectively and drew off late while not being asked at all by jockey Carlos Marquez Jr. First-time starter Nicky Red made a right turn at the start and bumped with Wild Doone, hard enough to dislodge his rider, Navin Mangalee. Nicky Red ran near the pace throughout while riderless, and while it played havoc with those horses near the lead on the turn it was not likely an incident which affected the outcome, as Partyallnightlong was clearly best.
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is on hand and made an appearance in the winner's circle, drawing a fairly big crowd.
