Jockey Carlos H. Marquez Jr., who was unseated from his mount, Back Pocket Money, prior to the 8th race, was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune complaining of left hip and pelvic pain.
“His motor functions are intact," said Angelo Chinnici, Medical Director for the New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority, which owns and operates Monmouth Park. "He has a possible pelvic fracture, so I sent him for X-rays either to confirm or rule that out.”
