Afleet Again, who won the Withers over Ibboyee at Aqueduct in his latest, was drfiting out through the lane but he closed well once straightened out, and he in fact could have won the race had he maintained a straight course. The solid efforts by the winner and Afleet Again verified the 98 Beyer earned by the latter in the Withers, as that figure was easily best of his career. Rule by Night, the main speed in the race, coming out of sprints, set a slow pace but wilted in the lane.
The win by Ibboyee was worth $2,402.55 to those who correctly selected all five winners in the 50 cent Pick 5, which featured a $123,000 carryover after no one held a perfect ticket on Saturday. Sunday's total pool was over $800,000.
