Another warm day at the shore, with no rain in the forecast. We did, however, get this, from weather.com:
Air Quality Alert for Eastern Monmouth, NJ
Issued by The National Weather Service
Philadelphia, PA
9:46 pm EDT, Fri., Jul. 16, 2010
... AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM TO 10 PM EDT SATURDAY...
THE NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION HAS ISSUED AN AIR
QUALITY HEALTH ADVISORY... IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM TO 10 PM EDT SATURDAY.
AN AIR QUALITY ADVISORY MEANS THAT AIR QUALITY WITHIN THE REGION MAY APPROACH OR EXCEED UNHEALTHY STANDARDS.
What does that mean? It's going to be humid, again. Although I'm not sure how much worse it could be than yesterday.
A storm did come through Oceanport during the week but Monmouth Park has been remarkably lucky this year in terms of weather, losing not a single turf race to the main track since the meet started back on May 22nd. This weekend is supposed to be clear, too, with rain possible on Sunday but likely to come at night, if at all.
