From the Monmouth Park Press Dept.:
Jockey Garrett Gomez was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune after being unseated from his mount Jadal at the start of the 7th race on Monmouth Park’s opening day card.
“It’s precautionary X-rays,” said Angelo Chinnici, Medical Director for the New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority, which owns and operates Monmouth Park. “He was awake and alert. There is no neurological deficit, but after reviewing the videotape of the fall, we agreed it was best to rule out any potential of a more serious injury.”
