Lone Star Park is running seven stakes worth a cumulative $1 million this afternoon as part of its annual Million Day program and the first stakes offering is coming up. The $50,000 Carter McGregor Jr. Memorial goes as the fourth, and with the scratches of Little Talk and High Lake there will be no superfecta wagering on the six-furlong race for 3-year-olds and up bred in Texas.
Supreme Secret, Quiet Again and Southern Vintage have all opened up at 2-1. Southern Vintage is moving back to the statebred ranks after finishing second to Grade 3 winner Sing Baby Sing last out in a Lone Star allowance that went in a quick 1:09.40. Aaron Gryder has the mount on Southern Vintage for trainer Karl Broberg.
Following the Carter McGregor, Wasted Tears will make an appearance in the fifth, the Grade 3, $200,000 Ouija Board Distaff. She is one of the nation's top-ranked turf females following her win in last month's Grade 2 Jenny Wiley.
