Jockey Luis Quinonez escaped serious injuries in the fourth race, when his mount, Henerita Mystery, broke down approaching the final turn of the $5,000 conditioned claimer for statebred fillies and mares.
Quinonez is not riding the upcoming fifth race, with Jeremy Collier to take over on Variance. King of Speed, the 11-year-old who is 5-for-5 over the Lone Star turf course, is the 4-5 favorite with three minutes to post.
