Salty Wave won the sixth race, a $20,000 claiming sprint for fillies and mares on turf, in a quick 56.44 seconds. She dueled on the lead with Suzy Three through fractions of 22.70 seconds for the opening quarter and 45 for the half-mile mark. Bobby Walker Jr. was aboard Salty Wave for Carl Moore Management and trainer Bret Calhoun. Suzy Three finished third in what was her first start since March.
Salty Wave also last raced in March, having run fifth in a $40,000 optional claiming allowance at Fair Grounds. She was claimed out of the race Sunday by End Zone Athletics and trainer Karl Broberg.
Heading into the card, there had been 12 claims 11 days into the meet, for total transactions of $79,500.
