The upcoming fifth race is a first-level allowance sprint for fillies and mares bred in Texas and Supreme Zoom has opened up as the 4-5 favorite off her runner-up finish at this level last time out. Prior to that race, she was a five-length winner of a maiden special weight, with a Beyer Figure of 81. Chris Landeros, who won the first two races on tonight's card, has the mount for trainer Jack Bruner.
The fifth race is also the comeback for Minacious, who is a full sister to multiple stakes winner Valid Lilly. She is making her first start since last July, when fourth in the $125,000 fillies division of the Texas Stallion Stakes at Lone Star. That race has produced four next-out winners, including seventh-place finisher Tin Top Cat, who accounted for the $50,000 Bara Lass at Sam Houston. Aaron Gryder has the mount on Minacious for trainer Steve Asmussen, the same team that won the fourth in a blowout with Chandas.
