There are two key scratches to report. The first is that Fifteen Love has been taken out of the $150,000 Dallas Turf Cup on this afternoon's Million Day card of seven stakes in favor of running later on the program in the Grade 3, $300,000 Lone Star Park Handicap. The other key scratch is Fortunia, who comes out of the $100,000 USA Stakes against colts and will run earlier on the card in the Grade 3, $200,000 Ouija Board Distaff.
It is partly cloudy and 86 degrees at Lone Star, where there is a breeze making for comfortable conditions right now. The track is listed as fast and the turf is firm. A large crowd is pouring into the grandstand for the richest card of racing in Texas. Bill Casner, who co-owns Kentucky Derby winner Super Saver, is among those on hand for the races. He was signing free winner's circle photos of Super Saver's classic win, and will make the trophy presentation for the Lone Star. Casner is a resident of nearby Flower Mound, Texas.
