Lone Star Park drew perfect weather conditions for its Lone Star Derby program. It is clear and 72 degrees, with the track listed as fast and the turf as firm. There are just three scratches to pass on at this point:
In the second race, scratch No. 1, Haili Hope
In the eighth race, scratch No. 4, City Champ, and No. 8, Waltz Across Texas
The Grade 3, $200,000 Lone Star Derby, which goes as the ninth on a 10-race card, will share a program with two $100,000 divisions of the Texas Stallion Stakes for 3-year-olds.
