Leading jockey Chris Landeros walked back to the jockeys' quarters after the third race in which he was thrown from his mount, Intimidating Woman, who stumbled severely leaving the gate. She, too, escaped serious injuries and was picked up after the wire by an outrider. Intimidating Woman was part of a favored entry with Far too Primal.
Fastation ($12.20) won the race, the $100,000 Texas Stallion Stakes, over Rush the Net and Last Legend.
