Jockey Jorge Guzman escaped serious injury in the fifth race, when his mount, Vision Queen, stumbled badly at the start from her rail post in the five-furlong maiden claiming race for 2-year-old fillies. Vision Queen, a first-time starter, was picked up by outriders after the race and she, too, escaped serious injuries. Kiera Tiger won the race from post 2.
