Leading trainer Bret Calhoun had back to back "gray" winners on the card when Captain Olson ($3.60) won his debut by more than seven lengths in the third race and Western Forum ($8.80) made his first start of the year in the fourth. Both are heavyset kind of horses, and proved much the best in their respective spots.
Captain Olson, who is 2, is a son of Captain Countdown. Western Forum, who is 3, is by Open Forum.
Western Forum won a second-level allowance in his first start since October, when he closed well for a length win.
