Lone Star Park will present a fireworks display lasting about 20 minutes following the ninth and final race tonight. There will also be fireworks Sunday after the races, and like Saturday's card there will be a special twilight post of 5 p.m. Central. The fireworks will be set to music on both nights.
Despite heavy rains early in the card, a large crowd has set up shop at Lone Star. They have had back to back winning favorites, with Afleetmovinangel holding off a bid from Personal A.T.M. in the eighth, one start after Western Forum won the seventh in good time. The horses were two of three winners trainer Bret Calhoun and jockey Cliff Berry have had on tonight's card at Lone Star. They also teamed together to win the fifth with Early Dancer.
