Fifteen Love, a stakes winner who is a perfect 2-for-2 on dirt, has been scratched out of the $50,000 Grand Prairie Turf Challenge at Lone Star Park on Saturday in favor of running in the featured Grade 3, $200,000 Texas Mile. His scratch is the most significant of several to report on the first major card of the meet.
As for current conditions, the main track is listed as muddy and the turf as good after morning rains hit in Grand Prairie. However, it is sunny and 76 degrees now, and with a nice amount of wind coming out of the Southwest, there is a good chance the track could be fast by the running of the Texas Mile.
The race will go as the ninth on an 11-race card. Below are known changes:
First Race: In the first make the rider on No. 5, Kristys Explosion, journeyman Benito Morales. He replaces injured apprentice Kris Fox.
Second: Sidney LeJeune will ride No. 6, Quick Magic.
Third: Scratch No. 1, The Difference, and No. 3, Advisable
Fourth: No Changes
Fifth: Scratch No. 3, Hannah Bo Banna, and No. 6, Sparkling Diamond
