The stretch run of the second race was an active one, with eventual winner Foxy Kitten angling out of a tight spot in the final eighth of a mile to go onto a clear win. In the process she ran down leader Heartscore, who finished second but was disqualified and placed fourth by stewards after drifting in sharply and impeding a rival along the rail. Foxy Kitten won at 2-5.

In other scratches, in the fourth take out No. 1, Weekend Thunder; in the seventh take out No. 9, Gilded Girl Style; in the eighth scratch No. 3, Dances With Tigers; No. 9, Oh Baby Oh Baby Oh; No. 12, Divan; in the ninth take out No. 12, Mister Fappiano.
