It was a strong week for the trainer-jockey combos of Bret Calhoun and Bobby Walker Jr. and Karl Broberg and Chris Landeros.
Calhoun and Walker won three races here Saturday, including both $100,000 divisions of the Texas Stallion Stakes. Broberg and Landeros had a double Thursday, a double Friday and winners on Saturday and Sunday.
Another combo who has had major success at the meet is shippers Bob Baffert and Martin Garcia. Last month, they accounted for the Grade 3 Texas Mile with Mythical Power, and on Saturday they teamed to win the Grade 3 Lone Star Derby with Game On Dude.
