Favorite Jazz closed fast to win a mile and three-eighths starter allowance over King of Speed and Kite Seeker. He was a class play, as he had faced a pair of graded winners in the quick $150,000 Dallas Turf Cup last month at Lone Star. With his win Thursday, the 7-year-old Favorite Jazz improved his record over the local lawn to 5-for-17. Tony McNeil rode Favorite Jazz for Griselda Trevino and trainer Cash Asmussen.
