Javier Castellano and Ian Wilkes been the stars of the day so far. Castellano won 3 races in a row with Joharmony ($6.60), Versailles Road ($12.80) and Gridiron ($10.20), making for a $2 p3 worth a cool $287 in races 2-3-4. Wilkes trains Versailles Road and Ivory Empress ($6.80), the 6th-race winner ridden by J.Leparoux.
It was bombs away after race 5 when a T.Pletcher firster, Embur's Song ($17.60, G.Gomez) absolutely ran off and hid in a tremendous effort, prevailing by 13 lengths in a full field of MSW 3yo fillies. The Unbridled's Song filly was bred in Ontario and is owned by Fares Farm. With 36-1, 5-1, and 22-1 shots trailing her home, the dime super (11-5-1-7) returned a whopping $5,468. There was nearly $122k in the super pool.
There are 14 MTP for the start of the late p4, and Deal Breaker (#1) is the 2-1 fave in a well-matched field of 6 older alw. horses.
A huge crowd and nice, cool, sunny weather today for the G2 Lex Stakes (race 9), which goes at 5:15 ET.
