Belmont Stakes odds as of 3:44 pm have three surprises for me. I'm surprised that Ice Box is as low as he is at 8-5, and at Dave in Dixie's relatively low 12-1. But I am really surprised at First Dude being as high as he is at 7-1. Like him or not, did anyone on the planet think that First Dude would be that big a price here? I'm sure there will be an adjustment and First Dude will come down in price when the real betting begins. But it's likely there will still be a bigger gap in odds between Ice Box and First Dude that I thought there would be.
