Willis, a 3-year-old gelding who has been sixth and second in his first two starts, is the only horse "covered" in Saturday's pick six. If he loses a maiden claimer over 6 1-2 furlongs, there will be a carryover of more than $500,000 for Sunday's program.
Willis races for Jeff Stiefel and trainer Peter Eurton. The gelding rallied from 11th in a field of 12 to miss by three-quarters of a length in his last start, at Santa Anita on April 3. With 18 minutes to post, Willis is the third choice in the betting behind Quintons Flash (7-2) and Jacob's Little Bro (4-1) in the field of 12.
