Uncle Don won his fourth consecutive start, and most prestigious race, in an allowance race in Saturday's third race.
Ridden by Joel Rosario, Uncle Don ($3.20) had little trouble against five rivals in a six-furlong turf race. He set the early pace and was never seriously challenged, drawing off to win by 2 3-4 lengths.
Uncle Don earned $33,540 of the $51,140 purse, receiving a bonus for beinng a California-bred winning against open company. Uncle Don's win streak encompasses a $25,000 claimer for maidens in March, a starter allowance race in March and the Grey Memo Stakes for state-breds on Gold Rush day here on April 24.
The success has come after Uncle Don was sidelined throughout 2008 and 2009 because of a tendon injury. This year, he has won 4 of 6 starts and $105,060.
