U.C. Merced Too, a Northern California shipper making his Hollywood Park debut, caught 4-5 favorite Swiss Ski in the final sixteenth to win the second race, for $10,000 claimers.
U.C. Merced Too was ridden by Julio Garcia,and ran 6 1-2 furlongs in 1:15.77. The 5-year-old gelding had won a $12,500 claimer at Golden Gate Fields on June 11 in his last start. He won Saturday's second race by a half-length over Swiss Ski.
U.C. Merded Too was claimed in a five-way shake by Jeff Mullins. Swiss Ski was claimed in a three-way shake by Bob Hess, Jr.
Gotmymojoworkin was scratched with a few minutes to post after failing to warm up to the satisfaction of the official veterinarian. He was 2-1 when he was withdrawn.
