Hi Ho Yodeler, a first-time starter, led throughout a maiden race for 2-year-old state-bred fillies in Sunday's first race, winning by 2 1-2 lengths over Deo's Secret, a second-time starter. Missilette, a first-time starter, finished third.
The disappiontment in the field was 1-2 favorite Nini Reina, who could only finish fourth, failing to offer any threat. Nini Reina had been eighth in her career debut over two furlongs at Santa Anita on April 7.
Hi Ho Yodeler gave trainer Mike Harrington his first winner of the year. Harrington typically does well with 2-year-old offspring of Swiss Yodeler during the Hollywood Park spring-summ metting.
