Sea of Pleasure led Sunday's ninth race by as many as six lengths, but could not hold that advantage and was reeled in by 5-2 second choice Quietly Mine in the final furlong of a six-furlong turf race for $32,000 claimers.
Quietly Mine ($7.40) ran six furlongs on turf in 1:09.33, finishing 1 1-4 lengths in front of El Scorpio. Sea of Pleasure faded to finish fourth in the field of 10.
Quietly Mine was dropping in class, having finished seventh in an optional claimer, when he eligible to be claimed for $62,500, on May 2. He was unplaced in three sprint stakes at Santa Anita earlier this year.
