Scottish Diamond, the one-length winner of Thursday's third race for $8,000 claimers, was taken in a seven-way shake by Steve Knapp.
Scottish Diamond ran 5 1-2 furlongs in a quick 1:02.80. The 6-year-old gelding was winning for the ninth time in his 37-race career. Thursday's race was Scottish Diamond's second win in four starts this year, and the third time he has been claimed.
He won an $8,000 claimer at Santa Anita on March 12, when claimed by Cirilo Sierra. In his next start, a third-place finish in a $10,000 claimer on March 21, Scottish Diamond was claimed by Jeff Mullins.
In Thursday's race, Scottish Diamond started for Ral Ayers, Mullins's assistant. Mullins was suspended when entries were taken on Sunday, but has subsequently received a stay of that suspension, for a medication violation, and will be allowed to resume training this weekend until a court case is heard on Tuesday.
