Trainer Bob Baffert had two starters fin Wednesday's third race, and the longer of the two prices - Premier Cru ($11.20) - edged out 6-5 favorite Tweebster, Baffert's other starter. The margin at the finish of the maiden race over 1 1-16 miles was a neck.
Premier Cru was timed in 1:43.44, winning his third career start and first race around two turns.
The third race was the first leg of a pick six, which drew a modest pool of $113,779. There are not many horses to select from on Wednesday, but if there is a carryover it would be approximately $63,100 for Friday evening's program. There is no racing on Thursday at Hollywood Park. The program was cancelled on Tuesday because of insufficient entries.
