Jockey Corey Nakatani, who returned to Southern California earlier this month after riding in Arkansas and Kentucky earlier this year, has taken off his mounts in Sunday's eighth and ninth races, citing illness, racing officials said.
Tyler Baze has picked up the mount on Michailasheartlite in the eighth race, the $100,000 Landaluce Stakes for 2-year-old fillies. Baze will tack 117 pounds. Nakatani was scheduled to post seven pounds of overweight on Michaelasheartlite, at 124 pounds.
No replacement rider has been named for Nakatani's mount in the ninth race, Zombyslayermrdarcy, a 15-1 shot in a sprint for 2-year-old maidens.
