Del Mar must be approaching. Claiming activity is intensifying.
In Sunday's sixth race, two losing horses were claimed for $32,000, and random draws were needed to determine the new owners and trainers.
Forthreeforueclid, who finished third, was claimed in a three-way shake by trainer Peter Miller, his second claim of the day. Earlier, he claimed fourth race winner Winter Camp for $20,000. Both of the claims were made on behalf of Kirk and Judy Robison.
Also in Sunday's sixth race, Mr. Saturdaynight, who finished fifth, was claimed in a four-way shake by trainer Mike Puype.
In recent years, claiming has increased in advance of Del Mar, a meeting in which many owners insist on participating.
