Merrytagio, the 6-5 favorite, ran down D Sugarbars in the final furlong to win Sunday's fourth race, a maiden claimer over 6 1-2 furlongs.
Ridden by Rafael Bejarano, Merrytagio needed four races to beat maidens, having finished second at this level at Santa Anita on April.
Merrytagio won the first leg of a pick six that attracted a pool of $255,996.
