Golden Itiz won his first start around two turns by 11 1-4 lengths in Wednesday's fifth race, giving trainer Ron Ellis the incentive to point the highly-promising 3-year-old to the Affirmed Handicap on June 19.
Ridden by Tyler Baze, who had four wins on Wednesday, Golden Itiz set a slow pace of 24.65 and 49.36 seconds, led by four lengths at the eighth pole and pulled away with authority in the final furlong.
Owned by Mace and Samantha Siegel, Golden Itiz beat maidens in his second start, in a maiden race over 6 1-2 furlongs at Santa Anita on March 20.
