Gab Power won his debut in Wednesday's first race, but the race was not without incident.
Ridden by Felipe Valdez, Gab Power ($6.20) finished a nose in front of early pacesetter Gutshot Straight, but was the subject of a four-minute inquiry. Gab Power drifted to the outside turning into the stretch, causing eventual third-place finisher Ride Candy Ride to race wide. The stewards ruled that the incident did not affect the order of finish.
Gab Power, by Powerscourt, is trained by Jeff Bonde. The gelding ran 4 1-2 furlongs for 2-year-old maiden claimers in 52.30 seconds.
