Big Wig ($9.60) won Saturday's sixth race for $25,000 claimers on turf, with 9-5 favorite Skellytown finishing fourth in the field of nine. Skellytown was the first losing favorite of the afternoon.
Big Wig rallied wide under jockey Tyler Baze to win the one-mile race by 1 1-4 lengths over 7-2 third choice Mr. Katz. Big Wig is trained by Ral Ayers, an assistant to Jeff Mullins, who is currently suspended for a medication violation. During the suspension, the Mullins horses are being trained by Ayers.
