Dave's Pacemaker, the 5-2 favorite a few minutes before Sunday's seventh race, was scratched after unseating jockey Omar Berrio and running into the barn area. His withdrawal led to a delay of several minutes for the seventh race, an allowance race over six furlongs won by Best Mon ($6.20) who inherited the role of favorite.
Best Mon finished a nose in front of Dark and Deep in 1:10.18.
Berrio was taken to first aid for observation, which is routine when a jockey is transported in any capacity by an ambulance at a Southern California track.
