Trainer Marty Jones has had an outstanding year with sprinters, and Dotsy Jean has been a strong part of that. The 5-year-old mare won her second allowance race or optional claimer of the year in Saturday's first race.
Ridden by Victor Espinoza, Dotsy Jean ($3.60) stalked pacesetter Burg Berg to early stretch, took the lead with a two-wide rally and won by a neck, finishing six furlongs on turf in 1:09.02.
Jones's stable has excelled with other sprinters such as the stakes winners Unzip Me and Compari this season.
