Jockey Tyler Baze, who had four wins on Wednesday and two on Friday, added three more on Saturday, to solidify his position as the leading rider after seven days of the spring-summer meeting.
Baze swept the late double on Saturday, with Self Made Man ($5.60) and Saccente ($11.40), a $2 double that returned $32.60. Earlier in the day, Baze won aboard Seventh Star ($16.20) in the fifth race.
Through Saturday, Baze had 14 wins, nine more than Rafael Bejarano, Victor Espinoza, Martin Garcia, Alonso Quinonez, and Joel Rosario, who all had five wins. Bejarano, Garcia and Rosario rode at Churchill Downs earlier this week, and are booked to return to this circuit for Sunday's nine-race program.
