No sign of a HAW bias after two races. The thing worth noting is a strong wind from the west, blowing hard into the horses through the stretch run. You could see the effect of that in race 2, where Illinois-bred $15K maiden-claimers going 8.5 furlongs required 7.20 seconds to complete the final half-furlong.
The Elevator (what a name) sure is sharp right now. Won for $10K by a head March 6, a race from which trainer Roger Brueggemann claimed him; won for $14K by 7.25 on March 26, then won race 1, an $18K claimer, by 3. Gets over synthetic, too, and may hold form to Arlington. Brueggemann also won race 3 with Getchamotorollin, who was much the best in a five-horse, six-furlong N2X alw. also open to $30K claimers. Mambo Galliano, who would've been heavy chalk, was scratched in favor of entry-mate Tight Grip, a turf horse who ran last.
