A great day here in DerbyTown, warm, with high temps nearing 90 today. We've got a couple of G3, $100k stakes on tap among the 11 races here today: the Aristides (race 8), in which I really like Cash Refund for trainer S.Margolis, and the Dogwood (race 10), which is coming to me a little less clearly, although I kind of like Margolis in there, too, with Visavis. My brother P.McGee ought to be very tough, too, in race 6, with Down With Dixie. Anyway, we'll see about all that . . .
Leading rider C.Borel took off a couple of mounts yesterday after missing 5 racing days with an eye infection but otherwise fulfilled his obligations. Looks like smooth sailing from here out for ol' Calvin, who's just 5 wins away from becoming just the 2nd jock in CD history to tally 1,000 wins here.
FYI that a carryover of $27,569 is in effect for the $2 pick 6 today (races 6-11).
