Another nice day here in Louisville, where today every racing fan is looking forward to what pretty much every racing fan in America is looking forward to: the 142nd Belmont Stakes. Quite a bit of local sentiment for the 3 CD horses in the Test of Champions - First Dude, Stately Victor, and Stay Put - although not many people would mind the "adopted" Kentuckian, one Nicholas P. Zito, notching his 3rd Belmont win with either Ice Box or Fly Down. Whichever way it falls, it's another classic we're all excited about.
C.Borel and J.Theriot are in the Big Apple for the big race, and it seems like alot of times that when the bigger dudes are away, C.Lanerie tends to do well here. Lanerie, by the way, is one of the more underrated jocks in America, in my humble opinion. He gets the mount today on Acoma, who actually is up against it in the featured Mint Julep (race 10) because Keertana and Hot Cha Cha both have had 2 good races this year, while Acoma comes cold off the bench. Anyway, look for CLan to maybe get his share of wins in a few other spots today.
Fast track, firm turf, with the first race set for 12:45 ET, while the last race goes at about 6. The Bel simo goes at 6:32. A carryover of $7,170 in the $2 pick 6 (races 6-11) and a carryover of $11,711 in the super hi 5 (race 11).
Here follow the early changes on the 11-race Sat. card. Good luck.
