We pretty much dodged the rain during the sweat-fest that was Fri nite racing here last night, with rain finally coming just before the 11th and last race went to the gate. Today is Stephen Foster Day, with all sorts of great stuff going on, including the return of Rachel Alexandra in the G2 Fleur de Lis (race 6), the G1 $600k Stephen Foster (race 10), three other graded stakes (7-9), and all the Derby Alumni festivities, including the '10 Derby trophies being presented to the winning connections of Super Saver.
The overnight rain left the main track wet this a.m., and as of 8:45 ET, it was rated "good." They're talking about an outside possibility of another storm passing thru the area later today, so we'll just have to see how that affects the track. It's pretty humid, with high temps eventually reaching 90. The turf track absorbed enough moisture that one of the scheduled grass races (the 11th) has been switched to the main track, but the two G3 stakes, the Jeff Cup (race 7) and Regret (race 9) are still on the turf.
