A little more than 12 hours after the last of the young'ns rolled out of here last nite, they'll be lining 'em up again here at CD, where the weather once again is hot and pretty humid. Quite the eventful card last night, with Here Comes Ben ($3.40) getting up to win the feature under A.Solis, and a no-brainer DQ (costing me a nifty sum, by the way) allowing the S.Asmussen-trained Raven Hawk to break his maiden in the finale. The pick 6 paid about $4,300 the way they finally hung the numbers, altho if the T.Pletcher-trained Megaholtz had been allowed to stay the winner, it was coming back a little more than $12k. Always a tough way to lose your cabbage, that . . .
Fast track, firm turf, on the hedge, first post 12:45 ET. No carryovers in either the $2 pick 6 (races 6-11) or the $1 super high five (race 11).
Here follow the early changes for an 11-race Sat. card, which features the G3 Debutante for 2yo fillies, our first graded stakes since Foster Day, June 12.
