Another fairly chilly morning here at CD, where T.Pletcher has been on the scene since yesterday to oversee the next few days of training for Derby winner Super Saver before they leave Wed. for Pim in Baltimore. Pletcher mentioned in passing yesterday afternoon in a conference with a handful of reporters that Mission Impazible, 9th in the Derby, is now a "possible" for the Preakness, depending on what's decided in the next day or 2. Pletcher already is running one other horse, Aikenite, against himself in the race next Saturday. The originial plan for Impazible had been to wait for the Northern Dancer here June 12, and that's the fallback plan in case the colt doesn't go to the Preakness.
A pretty nice Sun. card for all the moms and families in the crowd. There'll be a fast track and a firm turf. There is only one early change on the program: Betty Bye (#10) is scratched from the 11th and last race. Good luck today.
Our next day of live racing is Thursday. I'll be back in my old stomping grounds of Baltimore by then, and Byron King will be your man on the CD scene all of next week.
