It's been a day filled with hat tricks as jockeys Daniel Coa and Luis Saez have each won three races on the card as has trainer Fred Warren. In fact Coa and Warren completed their personal three bagger when Los Caobos outgamed Saez and the 6-5 King Ghidorah in the eighth race to take the closest of photo finishes. Coa and Warren had already teamed up earlier to win with Norma Claire and Ifitwasntfor Texas.
Saez lost a heartbreaker in his attempt to complete his hat trick in the eighth but came right back to get his third winner with Wheresthewireshirl, a 15-1 chance, who beat a dreadful group in the ninth despite not changing leads through the stretch. No excuse in this one for the 3-5 Set the Trend who cruised into the stretch with a clear lead but had nothing left at the end.
Ten down and one to go on this marathon Friday program. Saez goes for his fourth in the finale aboard Chicken Dinner.
