The main track favored speed throughout most of the day with Miss Motion the only off the pace winner in a race that absolutely collapsed at the end. The first two turf races were won from well back but the last three on the front end including the Mecke in which by the naked eye those early splits of 24 and change and 49 and change appeared to be well slower than the fractions posted on the tote board.
The late money spoke volumes in the finale with Foralltheglory pounded to 5-2 at the end. He then overcame some crowding on the turn to win impressively giving jockey Sebastian Madrid his first U.S. win of the year. The trouble on the turn cost first time starter Don't Say No all chance, the son of Margie's Wildcat steadied sharply when put in tight along the rail after Guacho rushed to join the leaders three wide approaching the bend.
