Mambo Meister left little doubt as to his superiority over his five rivals in the Grade 3 Memorial Day Handicap, cruising to one of his easiest wins yet under a perfect ride by Manoel Cruz who was posing and patting his mount on the neck just for good measure coming across the wire. The win was the second Grade 3 victory of the meet for the versatile gelding who will be on to bigger and better things out of town after this. Causeway's Kin altered tactics under jockey Jermaine Bridgmohan, taking back off pacesetter Cinnamon Road but was still able to wear that rival down to complete the perfecta. Causeway's Kin, a half to Grade 2 winner You and I Forever, is a steadily improving colt who has had the misfortune of running into a couple of killers, Mambo Meister today and Motovato in his stakes debut.
