Tailbytherail drew in off the also eligible list, got pounded in the final two minutes of the wagering and won like a good thing in the featured eighth race. Holding at around 5-1 for much of the betting, Tailbytherail was 8-5 when the field loaded and 6-5 when they broke for the finale. He then stalked the leaders and readily blew by to win off under jockey Jeffrey Sanchez. Tailbytherail was the second horse transferred from trainer Jos Catanese III by the Track Ho Farms to Ward to win over the past week.
New PRovidence, coming off a clunker as the favorite in his last, has opened as the 8-5 favorite in the finale for trainer Bill White.
